Our Urban Transit Ride-Share Program is designed to help fulfill one (1) major issue in our community and abroad that will address two (2) categorical needs. One (1); is a Free Ride-Share transportation program for Lupus Patients, to be provide a ride to and from their non-emergency doctor appointments and hospital visits. Two (2); a ride-share program for inmates released from prison to seek housing, Jobs and or training opportunities, including family members and friends who want to visit incarcerated loved ones in prison. This service is a serious need, and due to the result of Nevada state budget cuts in funding for such companies providing this service – made it rather difficult to implement the solution to address the problem. We did further research as well as a data fact check and survey on Lupus patient & current incarceration rates. With our findings; we realized that the need for rides for Lupus patients and rides to prisons, to visit loved ones is a national one. Our plan is to network and provide this service for Lupus Patients and prisons to family visitors all over the United States. LFOA have plans of expansion in the UK, Canada, Australia and other countries across the globe. Starting here in Nevada, we’re utilizing all platforms to advertise our UTRS program to accept pre-bookings. The data collected (City, State, Zip-code, Name, Number etc.) will allow us to implement this information into our mobile app to provide central UTRS pickup and drop-off locations.
What We Need: For this project; we’re seeking to raise $300,000 in funding to implement a Free transportation service for Lupus Patients and Affordable ride-share travel needs for those looking to visit incarcerated loved ones in prison. Our mission is to provide Lupus Patients with reliable ride-share transportation to and from non emergency doctors appointments, and family members of incarcerated prison inmates will be provided with a ride to and from prison visits.
Our Project Goal: Our project goal is to address the needs of the people and provide them with Free & Affordable reliable ride-share transportation. As well as develop, design and publish our own mobile app as a user friendly Urban Transportation Ride-share Network to help people find local UTRS programs, carpool partners and ride-share options to book in each community.
What Will The Money Go Towards: The proceeds will go towards purchasing a charter bus and vehicle repairs. LFOA will also be using the funding towards equipping our vehicle(s) with GPS tracking, installment of cameras & 24/7 security system inside all our vehicles.
Deadline Goal: Our goal is to launch our new Urban Transportation Ride-share Program is November 1, 2021. At that time, we will go through the data for our mobile application. Utilizing our current network members and advocates to help us make improvements through tracking, better route scheduling, route times, Analytics and feedback. The main focus of our Ride-share service and Mobile Application will be to hold ourselves and other businesses accountable, and implement a safety system that will help members weed out any unsafe drivers/rides. Our Urban Ride-share Transportation Mobile Application will also give customers the ability to leave a brief comment and grade & rate the driver for ride-share safety, so others will know their safety ratings on a more personal level.
Community and Global Impact
Nevada alone has over 13,500+ Lupus Patients and 1.5 million+ globally that are in need. Many are having a difficult time finding a ride to make it to their doctors appointments. With that being the case; many patient will not even get to see the doctor. Or if they do find a ride, they do not have a ride back or vice-versa. As you know or if you don’t know, allow us to explain; it’s important for inmates who are released from prison to have some sort of means of transportation to seek housing, Jobs and or job training opportunities. It’s vitally important for children of prisoners to visit their parents regularly – But, this isn’t always possible. Oftentimes, these children are placed in foster care or with other loved ones who simply aren’t able or willing to make trips to prisons. The same goes for other prison loved ones. There are thousands of adult children, children, parents, husbands, wives, fiances, grandparents, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers, sisters, girlfriends, boyfriends, friends and advocates who would love to be able to visit their incarcerated loved one(s) regularly. With our Urban Transportation Ride-share Program, Lupus Patients, and Individuals of incarcerated family members will be able to book and find our UTRS when they need it.
